Thessaloniki underground railway – Expansion to Kalamaria

Thessaloniki Metro line is currently being extended towards the areas of Nomarchia, Kalamaria, Aretsou, Nea Krini and Micra. This underground extension shall be 4.78km long with 5 new Stations. More precisely, the project concerning the first extension of Thessaloniki Metro to Kalamaria was tendered on May 6th, 2009 and this project has been integrated in the National Strategic Framework – “Macedonia – Thrace” Business Plan and is funded by the European Investment Bank.

The E/M design includes the power distribution, the lighting, the fire detection system, the cable routing, the earthing system and the substation arrangement of the Thessaloniki underground railway expansion to Kalamaria for the following stations:

• Nomarchia station
• Kalamaria station
• Aretsou station
• Nea Krini station
• Mikra station
• 1ΤΕ1 – 1Τ5 tunnel
• Terminal well (1Τ6)
• Kriti well (1ΗΕ1)
• Pontos well (1ΗΕ4)
• Substations 1&2
